We are about raising the profile of individual professionals in the film industry. Film Crew aims to bring real talent together in the aim of raising production quality and lowering output costs.

Film Crew will be a stepping stone for under graduates, by offering them the opportunity of networked projects. Gaining crucial skills in this way will enable a motivated student to gain crucial skills at an early stage, complimenting natural talent in this way is crucial to development.

History so far...

The concept of a film related website for professionals in the industry was initially conceived in 1995 by two english students; Steve Norris and Alexis Haggar. Back in 1995, the web was really starting to take off and it quickly became hard to find domain names that really fit. As we were new to the web, like everyone else, we banked on Shorties.co.uk, and our fan base was based at the Bournemouth Institute of Arts, in South England, where Alexis was studying Film Production.

Over time, we gained a reasonable cult following for Shorties.co.uk and it became apparent that the need for a larger scale website was required. We teamed up with Keith Bartlett in 2000, an Academic Director of Film Studies at Bournemouth, who encouraged us to take the project seriously.
